On Sunday, October 20, whether you slip on your running shoes or just walk barefoot, you’ll be helping to raise awareness for the 157 million orphans and vulnerable children around the world.
Click here to register for one of the three events taking place at the 6th annual Forgotten Children Worldwide 5K Run/Walk. In addition to raising awareness, the event also raises funds to provide these children with clothes, food, shelter, education and lifesaving medicine and vaccinations.
For the third year, FCW will also hold a Barefoot Water Walk, where participants may choose to walk barefoot carrying a water jug to fill it up and carry it back to gain a better understanding of what millions of children do around the world daily just to survive.
Check-in and Registration will begin at 2 p.m. at a new location  The 5k event using a different route starts at 3 p.m. The Water Walk and the 1 Mile Fun Run begins at 3:30 p.m.  All three will be held rain or shine.
5K awards will be presented at 4:30 p.m. to the first three men, first three women, first three master men, and first three master women to finish. Awards will also be presented to the first three male and female finishers in the following categories: 10 and under, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over.
The entry fee for those who register prior to October 1 will be $25. After October 1 or on the day of the event, the fee will be $30. Additional donations and $25 per month child sponsorships will be accepted and appreciated.
T-shirts will be given to pre-registered participants and all children participating in the 1 Mile Fun Run will receive a ribbon. FCW hopes to raise even more this year with the help of donors, participants and volunteers.
