Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive
- All day on May 11, 2013
Location: Your Mailbox
On May 11, 2013 you can join families across the United States in a nationwide effort to "Stamp Out Hunger." Letter carriers across the country will be collecting food for families in need during the 21st Annual National Food Drive. The local drive will support Associated Churches' Neighborhood Food Network.
“On the second Saturday in May, letter carriers once again will proudly lead the country’s largest single-day drive to help fight hunger in America,” NALC President Fredric Rolando said. “What we see on our routes drives us to do what we can to help millions of Americans get the food their families so desperately need, and I once again call on every active and retired NALC member to get started now to prepare to make this coming drive another successful one.”
It’s easy to help:
1. Collect and bag non-perishable* food items
2. Place by mailbox for letter carrier to deliver to a local food bank or pantry
* Donate items like canned meats, fish, soup, juice, vegetables, pasta, cereal and rice. Please do not include items that have expired or are in glass containers.
