Director of Financial Aid

Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts and is a member of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU). We are seeking a person to serve in the role of Director of Financial Aid.

The Director of Financial Aid manages all aspects of the Financial Aid Office and supervises a staff of three. The position reports to the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing.

Candidates must have a strong personal faith in Jesus Christ, a commitment to stewardship, and a strong desire to serve others.

A Master’s degree or equivalent is preferred; a Bachelor’s degree is required. Qualified candidates must have administrative ability to manage an effective financial aid operation, have significant and successful experience in the financial aid or related professional area, possess excellent analytical, communication, human relations, and management skills, utilize a high level of problem solving skill and have the ability to execute multiple projects and tasks concurrently.

The candidate must have knowledge and proficiency in general software products (Microsoft Office Suite and Windows environments) and Department of Education software solutions/interfaces (COD, NSLDS, FAA Access, and EDExpress). Experience with Jenzabar’s CX ERP and Cognos or other higher education ERPs or report writing solutions recommended.

Key areas of responsibility include oversight for compliance with federal, state and University regulations, development of financial aid programs that support the University’s mission, administer programs within established scholarship budgets, evaluate effectiveness of financial aid programs, establish budgets in relation to enrollment, oversight of endowment and athletic scholarships, creating financial packages for students, management and leadership of financial aid department staff, packaging new and returning students in a timely fashion and in conjunction with targeted financial aid parameters, and other duties as required.
