Huntington University seeks to fill a tenure-track faculty position in the Business and Economics Department. This position is available beginning with the Fall 2014 semester. Huntington University is in the people development business.
We are seeking a Business department faculty member who is passionate about developing the next generation of leaders who are being called to serve our communities, to provide meaningful work for others, to generate profit for good works and to be godly and ethical global citizens. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to assist students in developing a variety of professional and life skills: in oral and written communication, in problem-solving and research, in leadership and interpersonal relationships, and in creative and strategic thinking. Evidence of successful teaching within a management and marketing curriculum is expected. The ideal candidate will have additional professional leadership experience outside of academia. Competence with emerging technologies and social media is desired. Each Faculty member is expected to be an active participant in the activities and governance process of the University as well as in individual professional and research activities.
The business department at Huntington offers B.S. degrees in accounting, economics and finance, management, marketing and entrepreneurial business. The department is in the process of launching a new venture seed accelerator and a certificate in entrepreneurism for students from any program of study. The business department is one of the largest academic departments on campus. Qualifications • Commitment to Christian faith and to faith-learning integration • Ability to teach effectively within a Christian liberal arts education • Evidence of spirit of colleagueship • PhD or DBA in business preferred • Relevant experience in business
