Web & Social Media Coordinator

Huntington University is seeking a person to serve in the role of Web and Social Media Coordinator. The Web and Social Media Coordinator enhances and advances Huntington University’s local, regional, national and international reputations through the institution’s website and social media accounts.

The position reports to the Director of Communications.

Candidates must have a strong personal faith in Jesus Christ, a strong desire to serve others, and a commitment to the mission of Huntington University. A commitment to delivering a high level of customer service to campus clients and constituents and good stewardardship of University resources are essential.

The role requires working knowledge of web content management and social media as well as public relations techniques and practices in addition to strong communication and writing skills. Proficiency with communication software and hardware (Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, especially ExpressionEngine), and a working knowledge of search engine optimization is necessary. The individual seeking this role should have a strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and a high level of organizational skills. In addition, the ability to work as part of a team, excellent attention to detail and basic photography and photo editing skills.

One to two years managing a website and social media platforms, preferably for a business or organization, and a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in communication or a related field is required. Key areas of responsibility related to the website include executing the website content strategy schedule, assisting campus clients with maintaining website content, and serving as a resource for the website and CMS support. Included in social media responsibilities are executing social media campaigns on a variety of platforms, advocating for the University in social media spaces, compiling ROI reports, daily monitoring, overseeing design, and supporting campus clients. Additional responsibilities may include serving on task forces, taking photos, inputting data for institutional surveys and drafting basic press releases. A detailed job description is available.
