Rising Stars

Rising Stars Vision Statement: Empowering children through Christian values to become the pacesetters for the next generation building community, teaching Character Education and supporting the entire family.

Join STAR 88.3 and the Associated Churches of Fort Wayne in supporting Rising Stars.  Begun in 2010, Rising Stars is providing tangible and educational support to students and their families with the mission of building a stronger, more progressive-thinking, caring community. We are empowering the next generation through a variety of parenting classes, school assem-blies, and meetings that address students’ growth and family needs and concerns.  With the help of Associated Churches’ staff, churches and organizations discover ways to be examples of Christ in action in our public schools.

Community Connectors: The Associated Churches’ staff is responsible for working with local schools to help assess the needs of students. Connectors then communicate with local churches about how they can help. By meeting the critical needs of students in our community, we can give them the tools they need to gain an education and escape the cycle of poverty. Additionally, we have the opportunity to impact an entire family in need by connecting them in meaningful ways with local congregations of faith.

Character Education: National and regional speakers offer character building programs for children in Fort Wayne Community and East Allen County schools. In the evening, speakers present a faith based program that the entire community is invited to attend.

Parenting Programs and Education:  Associated Churches, in cooperation with social and faith based organizations and school systems, will offer educational and support programs to empower parents.

Rising Stars supports the entire family — and ultimately, the whole community — with a foundation of values for healthy, productive living.
