he past few days have been a whirlwind.  The scariest word of all....Cancer.  My mom, Carolyn, has just been diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer.  If left untreated, the doctors gave her only 6 weeks, but with intensive chemo, maybe 12-18 months.  She had no real symptoms out of the ordinary other than feeling a bit sluggish and having some unusual pressure in her abdomen. The cancer is very aggressive.  She starts intensive Chemo this Wed.  She is only 55.I pray selfishly for a miraculous healing for my mother.  However, we are trusting in God's perfect plan.  I pray for my mom's pain managment and pain tolerance through this all.  I pray for strength for my Dad to walk along side her through this all, and for him to closer in a relationship with God.  He says he's a believer, but doesn't exactly walk the walk.  My dad and I have a strained relationship due to him having an affair on my mom several years ago.  I pray that this situation will be the final step in forgiveness and that we can rely on one another as we walk through this.  I pray for quality time with my mom throughout all of this and for her quality of life.  She is an angel on earth.  A well of perpetual gratitude and joy.  I pray that she can maintain this attitude throughout.
